Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 15, 2026
1. Who We Are
This website, www.bootleggedbarberco.com, is operated by Bootlegged Barber Franchise Systems, LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("BBFS," "we," "us," or "our"). BBFS is the franchisor of the Bootlegged Barber franchise system. BBFS does not own or operate a barbershop. Barbershops shown on this site are independently owned and operated, and each is responsible for its own information practices.
This Policy covers only the information BBFS collects through this website. It does not cover information collected by an independently owned barbershop, by the third-party booking and payment provider, or by any other website or service that links to or from this site.
2. Information We Collect
Information you send us. If you use a contact form on this site, or write to an email address listed on it, we receive what you provide. That is typically your name, email address, telephone number, and the content of your message.
Franchise inquiries. If you inquire about a Bootlegged Barber franchise, we collect the information you enter in the franchise inquiry form. That form requires your state of residence and the state in which you are interested in operating, because franchises are currently offered in Utah only and we use those answers to determine whether we are able to respond. If your inquiry proceeds, the form also collects your name, email address, telephone number, and ranges you select describing your available capital and net worth, which we use to evaluate and respond to your inquiry.
Employment inquiries. If you apply for a position at a barbershop through this site, your application is provided to the independently owned barbershop for that location. That shop, not BBFS, makes hiring decisions and is the prospective employer.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server log information when a page is requested, including the requesting IP address, the browser and operating system reported, the page requested, and the date and time.
We use a website analytics service to measure aggregate site traffic and to record when a visitor selects a booking link and which location it was for. This service uses cookies or similar identifiers stored by your browser. We use it to understand how the site is used. We do not use it to identify you by name.
We do not use advertising, retargeting, or conversion-tracking technologies on this site, and we do not record your keystrokes, cursor movement, or screen activity.
3. Appointments, Payments, and Gift Cards
Booking, payments, and gift card purchases do not take place on this site. Selecting a booking or gift card link opens a third-party booking and payment platform in a separate tab, at which point you have left this site. The information you enter there, including your appointment details and payment card information, is collected by that provider under its own privacy policy and terms of service. BBFS does not receive your appointment history or payment card information.
We record that a booking link was selected and which location it was for, as described in Section 2. We receive nothing about what you do after that.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to respond to your message, to evaluate and follow up on a franchise inquiry, to forward an employment inquiry to the relevant barbershop, to understand how the site is used, to maintain records of franchise sales activity as required by the Federal Trade Commission's Franchise Rule and applicable state franchise law, to protect the security and integrity of the site, and to comply with law.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
We disclose personal information to service providers that operate this site and our systems on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, email, and any customer relationship or scheduling tools we use, each of which is limited by contract to using the information to perform services for us. We disclose employment inquiries to the barbershop for the location you applied to. We disclose information to our affiliates for internal administration, to our professional advisors, and where required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect legal rights. If the business is sold or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
6. Consent to Be Contacted
If you submit a franchise inquiry, you are asking us to respond, and we will contact you by email or telephone about that inquiry. We will send you text messages only if you separately check the box giving consent on the inquiry form. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of being considered for a franchise. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or write to us at the address below, and we will honor the request.
7. Retention
We keep inquiry records for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Records of franchise sales activity are kept for the periods required by the FTC Franchise Rule and applicable state franchise law, which is at least three years. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes, subject to any legal hold.
If a franchise inquiry does not proceed because neither your state of residence nor the state in which you are interested in operating is Utah, we retain your inquiry and contact information. We do not use it while franchises are not offered in your state. If we later become able to offer franchises there, we may contact you at that time. You may ask us to delete the information at any point by writing to the contact below.
8. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send government identification numbers, financial account numbers, or payment card information to us by email or through a form on this site.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may ask us to correct or delete information we hold about you, or ask what we hold, by writing to the contact below. We will honor a deletion request except where we are required or permitted by law to keep the information, including records of franchise sales activity that the FTC Franchise Rule and state franchise law require us to retain, information subject to a legal hold, and information we need to complete a transaction you requested or to comply with a legal obligation. Where we cannot delete, we will tell you why and we will limit our use of the information to the purpose that requires us to keep it. You may unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in the message, and stop text messages as described in Section 6. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings.
Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights regarding personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability. If you make a request, we will verify your identity by matching the information you give us against our records, and we will respond within the time and in the manner your state's law requires. We do not charge for a request and we will not treat you differently for making one.
10. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and the forms on this site are intended for persons 18 or older. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us below. Booking is handled by a third-party provider as described in Section 3, and that provider's practices are governed by its own policy.
11. Other Sites
This site links to third-party services, including the booking provider, social media pages, and other websites. We do not control those services and this Policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information to them.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above. Material changes will be identified on this page.
